A BALLOON vendor has denied claims that he had received three warnings from Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) officers before being allegedly roughed up, as reported in the media.
In a video shared by one of Arau MP, Datuk Seri Dr Shahidan Kassim's officers, the trader expressed disappointment over alleged false statements made by DBKL officers.
"That's not true because I was afraid of them.
"I am trading without a license and if I encounter them, my goods will definitely be confiscated," he said in the recording as reported by Sinar Harian.
On Saturday, DBKL stated that it had issued three warnings to the unlicensed balloon vendor who was allegedly roughed up by an officer on Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman (TAR) Kuala Lumpur on Friday.
DBKL informed that the vendor started acting aggressively and there was physical contact when he pushed the enforcement officer after the third warning.
According to the trader, he has indeed been operating without a license because he did not know the correct application process.
"I really wanted to apply for a license but I don't know the process.
"I have a health condition, so I thought by doing business, I can cover some expenses little by little. Besides, it's going to be Hari Raya soon.
"I also have younger siblings who are still in school," he said.
He also denied allegations from certain parties claiming that he is not a citizen.
He said he is a Malaysian from Jerantut, Pahang, who is only familiar with doing business as his main source of income.
"Now, there is a problem with my backbone.
"I appeal to Datuk Seri to help me get a business license because that is the only thing I know how to do," he added. – March 30, 2025
