  • Venice's controversial entry fee for daytrippers is set to return from 3 April, applicable on specific dates until 26 July.
  • The fee, first introduced on 25 April 2024, costs €5 if purchased in advance, increasing to €10 closer to the date of visit.
  • The levy aims to safeguard the city from overtourism, a concern previously highlighted by Unesco, as about 30 million tourists visit annually, with seven out of ten being daytrippers.
  • In 2026, the fee will be in place for 60 days across the peak season, compared to 54 days in 2025.
  • Exemptions from the fee include workers, residents, disabled individuals, those visiting residents, and tourists staying overnight in Venice.
