The Haryana State Veterinary Association (HSVA) has expressed concern over the alleged police failure in arresting a person, who attacked veterinary officers at Haryana Veterinary Vaccine Institute, Hisar, three days ago.
A delegation of the association met Hisar Superintendent of Police Siddhant Jain and demanded immediate action in the matter.
On May 8, an employee posted at the institute allegedly entered the officers’ room, bolted the door from inside, and threatened them with dire consequences. The accused reportedly attacked the officers with a sharp object. Several employees locked themselves inside rooms to save their lives, the association claimed.
The Hisar police registered a case under Sections 115, 118 (1), 296 and 351(3) of the BNS, which carry the charges of intentionally causing hurt, causing hurt by using dangerous weapons or means, obscene acts in public and serious criminal intimidation or threats. However, the association demanded addition of sections pertaining to attempt to murder and obstruction of government duties and preventing a public servant from discharging official duties to the FIR.
HSVA general secretary Dr Vijay Kadian said such violent acts adversely affect the morale of veterinary professionals across the state.
