Vida's assets successfully auctioned for RM1 million

PERSONAL items belonging to cosmetics millionaire Datuk Seri Vida, including three luxury vehicles, were successfully auctioned off with a total value of RM1 million on Thursday.

The auction process, which was held at her residence in Meru Heights in Ipoh, started at around 10.30am and ended at around 1.40pm, involving two bidders who are also entrepreneurs.

However, only one of them, Norzamri Abdullah, managed to obtain all the items listed after another bidder withdrew.

Among the assets auctioned were a Toyota Vellfire, Toyota Grand Hiace and BMW X7, as well as 727 household items such as sofa sets, dining tables, televisions, air conditioners, telescopes, electric guitars, pianos, karaoke sets, pool tables, wall decorations and vases.

Licensed auctioneer, S Punithawathi confirmed that all the confiscated items were successfully sold to the bidder with a final bid of RM1 million.

Earlier reports said the auction was announced via a notice published in the advertisements section of a local English-language newspaper by Vida's creditor, AH Design Communication Sdn Bhd.

The move follows Vida's failure to settle the amount owed to the subcontractor company, AH Design Communication.

The court proceeded with the auction after she failed to reach a settlement offer, and her request for a nearly year-long postponement was rejected.

Vida had earlier requested the postponement because she claimed the seized items were loaned, but the court ruled otherwise when she failed to present any evidence.

The goods were seized during a five-hour operation at her luxury bungalow in Ipoh on Nov 25 last year.  – October 30, 2025
