  • Footage captured by the United States Geological Survey (USGC) showed molten rock gushing from the geyser on Tuesday, 5 May.
  • The eruption commenced at 8:17 am HST and concluded approximately nine hours later at 5:22 pm HST.
  • The USGC has labelled this event as 'episode 46 of lava fountaining' since the current activity began in December 2024.
  • Kilauea is recognised as one of the world's most active volcanoes.
