Dashcam footage shows the moment a second civilian tried to disarm a gunman before the deadly attack on Bondi Beach on Sunday (14 December).

Footage shows a gunman wrestling for a long-barrelled weapon with an older man in a lavender shirt and shorts. Both of them then fell heavily to the ground behind a silver hatchback car.

The man in lavender, who was with a woman, then gets up.

It comes after footage emerged of a shopkeeper tackling one of the gunmen circulated widely on social media following the attack.

At least 16 people have died following the shooting, including one suspected gunman, New South Wales Police have confirmed.

Police said a 50-year-old man and his 24-year-old son, named in local media as Sajid and Naveed Akram, were the suspects.
