UMS Student Representative Council (MPP) does not recommend students to participate in this rally due to safety concerns and worries about demands that seem to challenge the supremacy of the law.
“We emphasize that the safety of students is our priority. The planned location of the rally, such as main roads, is a strategic area but also risky.

“While the right to express opinions is guaranteed under the Constitution, we would like to emphasize that the process of appointing the Governor is a prerogative of the Agong, carried out after consultation with the Chief Minister of Sabah, in accordance with Article 1(1) of the Sabah State Constitution.

Yusuf said MPP UMS is fully committed to upholding integrity, and strongly condemn the practice of corruption as it is an immoral and repulsive act that undermines the foundation of the nation.
“Corruption also threatens national stability and tarnishes the reputation of the administration, thus preventing the public from enjoying the justice and transparency they deserve.
“We fully support efforts to combat corruption through the enforcement of strict laws and thorough investigations by the competent authority, the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).
“The MACC functions as an independent body, not subject to any party, whether government, political organization, or individual. Section 7(c), Section 29(3), and Section 30 of Act 694 clearly grant the MACC the authority to investigate all corruption cases without interference.
“Therefore, we call on all parties to place full trust in the MACC to carry out its duties professionally and transparently.
“MPP UMS urges all parties, especially students, to act responsibly in every decision they make, in line with the values of integrity and wisdom.
“We are committed to continuing the fight for important issues, including integrity, justice, and collective welfare, with the goal of ensuring progress and harmony within the university community.
“In all our actions, we uphold the supremacy of the law and understand the fundamental principles of nationhood that form the core of the system practiced in our country.
“We believe that wise, ethical, and law-based actions will have a positive impact on society and the nation, thereby strengthening the principles of the rule of law and collective welfare.”
