Vietnam Airlines flight forced to return to airport after overshooting runway

  • A Hanoi-bound Vietnam Airlines flight was forced to return to Munich Airport on Saturday following technical difficulties shortly after take-off.
  • The Boeing 787 reportedly overran the runway during departure, sending up a large dust cloud captured on video footage.
  • The aircraft was required to circle for more than two hours to burn off fuel before landing safely back in Munich.
  • Following the landing, the plane was unable to taxi under its own power, resulting in the temporary closure of the airport's north runway.
