Vietnam urges remote work and fuel-saving practices to reduce travel demand and ease pressure on fuel supplies affected by West Asia tensions.

HANOI: Vietnam’s Ministry of Industry and Trade has encouraged remote work where possible to reduce travel demand and transportation needs.

The ministry issued the call amid escalating tensions in West Asia, which have caused sharp volatility in the global energy market and affected fuel supplies.

It also urged citizens to adopt a range of fuel-saving measures to help manage the situation.

These measures include limiting the use of private vehicles when unnecessary and opting for carpooling or public transport.

Citizens were also encouraged to prioritise bicycles for short distances and to consider electric and hybrid vehicles.
