Unai Emery's side, who looked solid, looked good thanks to three youngsters: Yeremy Pino, Nicolas Jackson and Álex Baena. The first two were the goalscorers, while the latter put in another great performance.
PSV took the lead via Luuk de Jong before Villarreal fought back through Pino and Jackson.
