Villarreal president Fernando Roig admits they've been blindsided by Unai Emery's departure for Aston Villa.
Emery and Roig held a media conference today to announce Emery's exit.
Roig lamented: "Unai has left us on the back foot, it has screwed things up for us.
“We are here to thank Emery for two and a half years.
"Tomorrow we will talk about the future because it is a strange season because in two or three days we stop for a month and a half."
