The 2024 Piala Belia Tournament match between Melaka and Sri Pahang FC took a disturbing turn yesterday when a heated incident marred the encounter. A viral video captured a scene of pushing and shoving between players on the sidelines, escalating despite attempts by the coaching staff to diffuse the situation.

The climax of the altercation came when a Sri Pahang FC player seemingly kicked a Melaka player, causing him to fall. This led to Sri Pahang FC substitute player, Adam Syaqir Barzu, receiving a red card in the 41st minute for his involvement.

Deputy Chairman of the FAM Security Committee, ACP (B) Md Dali Wahid, confirmed the incident and pledged to issue a statement pending further information. He emphasized that violence in sports is a deplorable trend and stressed the importance of maintaining professionalism on the field.
