Kota Kinabalu: Photos of a puppy tied to the back of a car and dragged along a Penang road have reportedly gone viral.

Animal welfare organisations including the Seberang Prai Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) were notified, leading to a swift investigation into the matter.

It was claimed to be an accident and the puppy was taken to a veterinarian for treatment.
