Police trace two men for reckless driving on the North-South Expressway after a viral video captures dangerous racing-like behaviour.

NIBONG TEBAL: Police have successfully traced two men believed to have driven their respective vehicles recklessly and dangerously on the North-South Expressway towards Bukit Tambun from Jawi, an incident which also went viral on social media.

Seberang Perai Selatan (SPS) deputy police chief DSP Mohd Norazmi Abd Ghapar said the drivers of a Perodua Viva and a Toyota Hilux, both aged 30, were traced yesterday.

He said the Perodua Viva driver is from Chemor, Perak, while the other is from Kamunting, Perak. Both had their statements recorded at the SPS District Police Headquarters yesterday.

“They were later released on police bail, and further investigations are ongoing under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987,” he said when contacted by Bernama today.

Yesterday, Mohd Norazmi said the two-minute 43-second video clip was uploaded on Facebook by an account on Monday.

The video showed a Toyota Hilux and a Perodua Viva being driven in a reckless and dangerous manner, as if racing on the highway.
