A physical fight took place between 2 Singaporean men and a Grab rider at a gas station in Johor Bahru following a misunderstanding, according to PDRM.

A video went viral on social media this morning (June 21), which shows 2 auxiliary policemen trying to resolve the fight between the Singaporean men and the Grab rider, who was recording the incident. The Singaporean men, who were filling up the petrol into a small barrel knew they were being recorded and that did not sit well with them, so 1 of them came forward and ordered the rider to remove the video.

“You better delete ah!” the man pointed his finger at the rider.

Another man suddenly pushed the rider away, despite the presence of the auxiliary police. Here’s what happened.

According to a police statement issued this evening, the incident took place on 16 June at a gas station in Sunway Box, Iskandar Puteri, JB. The dispute started when the Grab rider confronted the 2 men for filling up the petrol into a small barrel. According to another report by Kosmo, the 2 men needed the petrol for go-kart use.

After making his payment at the counter, the Grab rider walked back to his pump to refuel his motorcycle, only to find a Singapore-registered vehicle had already stopped at the same pump. Before the dispute started, the men had yet to fuel up.

The dispute went on for another 10 minutes and it was eventually resolved by the auxiliary police before the Singaporean men left the scene. The rider lodged a police report at the station in Iskandar Puteri but later withdrew the report. The reason for withdrawal was not disclosed.

The original video has since been removed but it was later reshared by many social media pages which you can watch below.
