Viva has brought the Filipino love for karaoke into the digital space with the launch of Vivaoke, a new karaoke app featuring an all-OPM music catalog.
Officially launched on Sept. 16, Vivaoke allows users to sing along to Filipino songs, record their performances, save their karaoke sessions and share them on social media. The app also features an in-app scoring system that lets users see how they perform while singing their favorite tracks.
Those who attended the launch included Viva artists Aubrey Caraan, Ashtine Olviga, Carl Guevarra of The Juans and Amiel Sol, among others.
For Guevarra, the app offers a convenient way for Filipinos to enjoy karaoke while also giving artists another milestone to look forward to.
“This app is great. You can use it when you’re heartbroken or when you’re drinking with friends,” Guevarra said.
He also highlighted the significance of having The Juans’ music included in the app, particularly for musicians who dream of eventually hearing their songs in karaoke sessions.
“It’s also great that our songs are here. When you’re starting out in the industry, one of the dreams of artists is that someday, you’ll see the song you made or sang in a videoke machine. So with the Vivaoke app, the fulfillment of those dreams is now closer, especially for starting artists and singer-songwriters,” he said.
Sol, whose song “Sa Bawat Sandali” is among the tracks available on Vivaoke, echoed Gueverra and said having one’s music performed by other people is part of an artist’s aspirations.
“It’s part of your dreams that other people will sing your song through videoke. Of course, we Filipinos love videoke, so with Vivaoke, it’s just one click away. It makes singing easier because wherever we are, we can already sing,” Sol said.
The app’s catalog combines OPM classics with contemporary hits, offering songs across generations. Among the tracks included are the Hotdog’s “Bongga Ka ‘Day,” Sharon Cuneta’s “Bituing Walang Ningning,” Sarah Geronimo’s “Tala” and “Hanap-Hanap” by James Reid and Nadine Lustre.
Current songs available on the platform include “Miss Miss” by Rob Deniel, “Tibok” by Earl Agustin, “Libu-Libong Buwan (Uuwian)” by Kyle Raphael, “Panaginip” by Nicole, “Multo” by Cup of Joe and “Isa Lang” by Arthur Nery.
Viva Communications Inc. and Viva Music Group said Vivaoke was developed to make the karaoke experience accessible anytime and anywhere, with users able to keep a selection of Filipino songs on their devices.
The app offers premium subscriptions starting at P99 per month, with unlimited access to its music library and uninterrupted streaming. A yearly subscription costs P949, saving P239 compared with the monthly plan.
Vivaoke follows Viva’s streaming platforms Viva One, VMX and Viva Movie Box. The company said the app’s music library will be regularly updated with additional songs, while more features are also in development.
The Vivaoke app is available through the App Store and Google Play, with more information available on its official website.
