VMX unveils bold trio of new titles

Streaming platform VMX is rolling out three new titles that blend sensuality with emotionally charged narratives, headlined by “Palitan 2,” a provocative drama starring Angela Morena and Margaret Diaz, together with the celebrity thriller “Scandal Queen” and the compilation special “Pinay Kamasutra.”

Leading the slate is “Palitan 2,” directed by Rodante Pajemna Jr., which explores the emotional consequences of rekindled love in a deeply conservative community.

The film centers on Rose, played by Morena, whose seemingly stable relationship with longtime partner King is shaken by the return of Angel, portrayed by Diaz, a former lover who resurfaces from Manila carrying unresolved feelings and painful memories.

Set against a provincial backdrop filled with wedding festivities and traditional expectations, the story examines the tension between personal desire and social conformity. As Rose struggles between the life expected of her and the emotions she tried to suppress, the film presents a layered portrait of identity, longing and emotional sacrifice.

Victor Relosa and Juan Paulo Calma round out the lead cast, portraying the men caught in the complicated dynamic between Rose and Angel. While the film carries VMX’s signature sensuality, its emotional core focuses on the difficult realities of love constrained by fear, tradition and judgment.

During the film’s media conference, Diaz spoke candidly about handling criticism tied to appearing in mature-themed projects while continuing her studies.

“Even if there are comments, I don’t care. I’m not accepting projects or doing this for them, so they don’t count,” Diaz pointed out.

The actress also shared that she has learned to separate public opinion from her professional goals, saying that only a small number of people in school are aware of her acting work.

“They don’t really meddle with that. That’s outside of school already,” she said of her school environment.

Alongside the romantic drama comes “Scandal Queen,” an erotic thriller directed by Topel Lee that dives into the dangerous world of celebrity blackmail and online exploitation.

The film stars Karen Lopez as Mara, a manipulative operative working for a syndicate that targets influential male personalities through seduction and extortion schemes.

Nico Locco portrays Alex, a rising actor whose growing fame makes him the syndicate’s next target. However, Mara’s mission becomes increasingly complicated as genuine emotions begin to interfere with the operation.

Rhian Rivera and Dimple Rubia complete the cast in supporting roles that add tension and intrigue to the thriller.

VMX said the film draws inspiration from real-life digital controversies and explores how fame, manipulation and viral culture intersect in today’s social media-driven environment.

Completing the trio is “Pinay Kamasutra,” a provocative special hosted by Ataska that revisits some of the platform’s most talked-about intimate scenes from previous VMX titles.

Serving as a follow-up to the earlier “Kamasutra” feature, the special compiles scenes from films such as “Sex Trip,” “Ekis,” “Balahibong Pusa,” “Barurot,” “Sipsipan,” “Private Tutor,” “Kalakal,” and “Himas.”

Throughout the feature, Ataska guides viewers through creatively named “positions” including “Mirror Effect,” “Quickie Fix,” “The Padlock,” and “Underwater Position.”

By combining romance, suspense and sensuality across its latest offerings, VMX continues to strengthen its identity as a streaming platform focused on bold Filipino storytelling for mature audiences.
