Volkswagen Tayron R-Line Arrives In Malaysia As Flagship Seven-Seater SUV

The Volkswagen Tayron R-Line variant has been added to Malaysian showrooms.

Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia (VPCM) has officially introduced the top-of-the-range Volkswagen Tayron R-Line, expanding its local SUV lineup with a performance-oriented, three-row seven-seater package.

Positioned between the Tiguan and Touareg, the locally assembled (CKD Pekan) Tayron R-Line combines 4MOTION all-wheel-drive capability with Volkswagen’s latest digital architecture and elevated cabin comfort.

The flagship R-Line variant joins the previously introduced Tayron Elegance (powered by a 1.5-liter eTSI mild-hybrid engine) to complete the Tayron range in Malaysia.

Pricing and Early-Bird Merdeka Rewards

The recommended retail price for the Tayron R-Line starts at RM237,490 (excluding the Volkswagen Assurance Package).

With the inclusion of the Volkswagen Assurance Package (VAP)—which adds 5 years of free maintenance, a 5-year manufacturer warranty, and 5 years of roadside assistance—the recommended retail price is RM250,074.

To celebrate the launch, an early Merdeka promotion rewards the first 69 Tayron owners with an upgraded 7 years of free maintenance, complimentary key and accident coverage, and entry into a draw for a 3-day/2-night luxury holiday.

Powertrain, 4MOTION AWD, and DCC Pro Chassis

The Tayron R-Line is powered by a 2.0-liter TSI turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch DSG transmission:

• Engine Output: Produces 265 PS and 400 Nm of torque.
• Drivetrain: Features 4MOTION intelligent all-wheel drive, continuously distributing torque between the front and rear axles based on driving conditions.
• Suspension: Equipped with Dynamic Chassis Control Pro (DCC Pro) utilizing electronically controlled two-valve dampers to balance ride comfort and body control.

R-Line Exterior Styling and IQ.Light Matrix Technology

The exterior adopts R-Line specific bodywork, including sportier front and rear bumpers, aggressive side profiles, and tight panel tolerances:

• Lighting Systems: Equipped with IQ.Light HD Matrix headlights with glare-free high beams, complemented by an illuminated front Volkswagen logo.
