
Punjab government is all set to launch a scheme of enrolling community mobilisers in 90 constituencies on Saturday. These mobilisers will be aiding the 52 lakh women beneficiaries under the Mukh Mantri Mawan Dhiyan Satkar Yojana, register for the scheme.
The scheme is set to be rolled out in July.
Each of the volunteer, chosen from the general public, will be given the target of visiting eligible women in 50 households. They will verify credentials including Aadhar cards, voter IDs and status of bank accounts and help clear out discrepancies so the beneficiaries are enrolled by June 30.
The volunteers, during their door-to-door visits will also assist women in filling the application forms. They will be paid Rs 100 per form. So far, Ludhiana has enrolled 19,740 mobilisers against a target of around 25,500. “Districts achieving 100 per cent mobiliser enrolment are likely to be given priority in the initial phase of disbursing financial assistance,” an AAP worker said.
Mandal in-charges and MLAs have been asked to monitor the enrolment process.
