MANILA, Philippines — The Commission on Elections (Comelec) will resume on Monday, February 9, its voter registration in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).
"We will resume our registration of voters in the entire Bangsamoro, which have been suspended, on February 9. This is a result of the postponement of the March 30 elections in the Bangsamoro," Comelec Chairman George Erwin Garcia said over the weekend.
He said that the Registration Anywhere Program (RAP) would also be made available in all highly-urbanized cities and capital towns in the Bangsamoro Region.
RAP is a new system of voter registration that allows the public to register in places of their choice other than in their respective city or municipality.
"If you are from Bangsamoro - Tawi-Tawi, Basilan, Lanao del Sur, Maguindanao del Norte, Maguindanao del Sur, Special Geographic Area (SGA), you can register in the RAP without the need to go to your home province," Garcia said.
