Voyah took us on a tour of their smart factory in Wuhan as part of a delegation of automotive media representatives.

Voyah‘s international delegation brought together automotive journalists and media representatives from key Southeast Asian territories—including Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, and Indonesia—alongside representatives from Hong Kong, China.

The program was curated to provide global markets with an up-close perspective on China’s high-tech automotive manufacturing standards and independent research and development capabilities, serving as the international prelude to the global debut of the brand’s flagship luxury MPV, the VOYAH DREAM 9.

Inside the Wuhan Smart Factory: A Car Every 40 Seconds

During the industrial showcase, media members toured the VOYAH Huangjin factory, observing automated final assembly lines driven by 5G network integration, big data telemetry, and industrial artificial intelligence.

The shop floor features an extensive network of automated guided vehicles (AGVs) and overhead component transport systems that deliver parts dynamically to assembly bays. Throughout the build cycle, high-definition digital terminal screens track the individual “digital identity” of each chassis from bare stamped metal to final inspection roll-off.

This flexible manufacturing infrastructure allows sedans, MPVs, and SUVs to be built along the same line in a synchronized, randomized mixed-model production stream. Operating in tandem with the nearby VOYAH Yunfeng factory, the brand commands a combined annual production capacity of 450,000 vehicles, capable of rolling a finished car off the line every 40 seconds.

30,000-Square-Metre Flagship User Center

Adjacent to the Huangjin manufacturing complex, international delegates toured VOYAH’s largest flagship User Center in China. Spanning over 30,000 square metres, the multi-functional destination serves as a comprehensive ownership hub.

The facility houses new vehicle configuration galleries, personalized bespoke trim design studios, high-capacity ultra-fast DC charging bays, and a comprehensive aftersales technical servicing center. The integrated direct-to-consumer sales model and lifestyle-centric customer care approach drew strong interest from visiting ASEAN media exploring the retail formats destined for upcoming international market entries.

Flagship Spotlight: The VOYAH DREAM 9 Luxury MPV

The centerpiece of the media driving experience was the VOYAH DREAM 9, the brand’s flagship luxury people-mover. Combining traditional Eastern-inspired elegance with high-tier digital architecture, the model generated substantial domestic anticipation, logging more than 30,000 pre-orders within just 48 hours of order books opening. Over half of these reservations were for the range-topping Li Zun Edition, with more than 20,000 orders placed by existing VOYAH owners upgrading their vehicles.

The vehicle introduces an interior built around the design philosophy of “Embracing Heaven and Earth,” anchored by an adaptable “One Cabin, Eight Scenarios” layout. Its second-row aviation-style zero-gravity seats feature multi-angle swivel rotation, allowing the passenger compartment to transform instantly from an executive mobile boardroom into an open lounge or leisure travel setting.

In addition to the DREAM 9, visiting media evaluated the brand’s wider portfolio on closed testing circuits, including the VOYAH PASSION S executive sedan and the VOYAH TAISHAN X8 SUV.

Global Expansion and Right-Hand-Drive Horizons

Backed by central state-owned automotive enterprise Dongfeng Motor Corporation, VOYAH has emphasized full-stack in-house development across battery-electric platforms, active chassis damping, high-voltage drive units, and intelligent cockpits, surpassing 400,000 users worldwide.

Global expansion stands as a core strategic objective for the marque, which has already established a presence across 40 countries and regions supported by an overseas network of over 240 sales and service touchpoints.

Moving forward, VOYAH’s international roadmap focuses on three defined priorities: deepening its operational footprint in continental Europe, expanding into high-growth Middle Eastern luxury hubs, and rolling out dedicated right-hand-drive (RHD) vehicles for Southeast Asia and Pacific markets. As Chinese automakers accelerate global growth, VOYAH is shifting its strategy from simple vehicle exporting toward delivering an end-to-end ecosystem spanning proprietary hardware, brand prestige, and elevated customer service.
