MANILA, Philippines — Vice President Sara Duterte has until Monday, June 1 to file her answer to the Articles of Impeachment against her, Senate Secretary Jose Luis Montales said Sunday.
In an advisory, Montales on Sunday said Duterte "may file her answer personally, through counsel, or through electronic mail" from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The impeachment articles against Duterte consist of four primary charges: misuse of public funds, unexplained wealth, bribery and corruption, and public threats.
Montales said access to the Office of the Senate Secretary on the 6th floor where the answer will be received and processed will be "restricted to authorized officials of the Impeachment Court and members of the Vice President's legal team."
"Should the Vice President or members of her legal team wish to address the media, they will be escorted to the Quezon and Tolentino [conference] rooms for any press briefing or media interaction," he said.
"For security and operational reasons, media access shall be limited to the second floor," Montales said.
The Senate Office of Senate Sergeant-at-Arms has been directed to ensure compliance with these guidelines, he added.
