Former Everton striker Darren Bent wants his old club to sign Alfredo Morelos from Rangers.

The Colombian forward has risen to prominence in the past 12 months, after some stunning form in the Scottish Premiership.

He has continued his golden spell this term, as he has 22 goals in 26 games for Gers under Steven Gerrard since the start of the new campaign.

Morelos is wanted by several clubs, but it would take a mega offer to see him leave Rangers in January.

Speaking to Football Insider, Bent said: "I'm surprised Everton don't try to go and sign him [Morelos].

"He's a bit temperamental, but he can score goals, he's got great ability and, to be fair to Rangers, if they can go and get a load of money for him let's say 20m+ for him they've still got Jermain Defoe who gets goals week in, week out."
