Brighton defender Dan Burn is up for a big game against Newcastle United.
Burn, from Blyth, Northumberland, grew up worshipping Alan Shearer and was a season-ticket holder at St James' Park.
He told The Sun: "I idolised him as a kid and just wanted to be him. I used to watch him every Saturday.
Olly got engaged so I went to Rob Lee's house for the engagement party. Shearer was there.
I was just starstruck. I panicked massively and didn't know what to say to him. My wife had to come over and save us!"
Burn also turned out for his Blyth school and took on Newcastle's current left-back Paul Dummett in a Year 11 cup final.
"Paul Dummett went to Kenton High School and I remember playing him in a cup final.
He scored a free-kick which was quite good. He was playing centre-midfield, I was at left-back and we were both captains.
He was at Newcastle at the time so you knew he was a good player. He's done very well at Newcastle, had a good career and is playing every week."
