The Civil Service Employees' Union Congress (Cuepacs) expressed confidence in the readiness of all state governments to implement salary adjustments for civil servants, aligning with the Federal Government's decision on the new Public Service Remuneration Scheme (SSPA) set to take effect this December.

Datuk Adnan Mat, Cuepacs president, stated that several states, including Penang, Perak, Selangor, Sabah, and Sarawak, have shown positive feedback and willingness to follow the government's lead in increasing civil servant salaries, as announced by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim on May 1st.

While some states are still evaluating the details of the salary increase before making a final decision, Adnan emphasized that historically, no state has rejected a salary increase since 2000. He highlighted that states are awaiting the finalization of the salary increase details by the Federation, which they anticipate will be welcomed by all state governments.

Speaking at the Madani Cuepacs Terengganu Budi Aidilfitri Relief Ceremony, Adnan underscored the significance of ensuring equitable treatment of public servants across states. He emphasized the importance of addressing salary disparities to safeguard the welfare of civil servants and avoid unfair discrepancies.

Adnan commended the state governments for their previous cooperation with the Federal government in providing bonuses and special aids for Aidilfitri. He stressed the need for uniformity in salary structures, advocating for equal pay for equal positions across all state civil services.

Furthermore, Cuepacs urged the Federal Government to consider increasing pension rates for retirees, citing the rising cost of living. Adnan emphasized the importance of protecting retirees' welfare by implementing necessary measures to address financial challenges in retirement.

In conclusion, Cuepacs reiterated its commitment to advocating for the welfare of civil servants and retirees, urging both state and federal governments to prioritize equitable salary adjustments and pension enhancements to support public servants' financial well-being.
