Kuala Lumpur is turning weekends into a city-wide wellness movement as the popular KL Car-Free Morning returns every Sunday from 7.00am to 9.00am, transforming major city roads into a safe, open space for walking, jogging, cycling, and family activities.
What is KL Car-Free Morning

Every Sunday morning, selected roads in the heart of Kuala Lumpur are closed to vehicles, creating a rare urban experience where the city belongs fully to the people.
Major roads will be affected are Jalan Ampang, Jalan P. Ramlee, Jalan Sultan Ismail, Jalan Raja Laut, Jalan Tunku, Jalan Abdul Rahman and Jalan Dang Wangi.
It supports the city’s commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by promoting clean mobility, reducing carbon emissions, and encouraging active living.
Participants can enjoy a scenic route passing iconic landmarks such as:
- Dataran Merdeka
- Petronas Twin Towers
- Sultan Abdul Samad Building
- Menara DBKL
- Masjid Jamek
The event typically offers:
- 5km route (2nd, 4th and 5th Sundays)
- 7km route (1st and 3rd Sundays)
- From 7am to 9am


No registration is required, just show up (starting at Dataran DBKL) and join the crowd of runners, cyclists, families, and casual walkers enjoying a healthier, quieter KL.
