As Democrats continue to add to their “blue tsunami” of midterms wins, President Donald Trump has pointed the finger of blame at the opposition and at the American public for Thursday’s stock market plunge, which has since begun to ease.
The Nasdaq Composite dipped 5.52 percent while the S&P 500 dropped 4.36 percent and the Dow Jones went down 1,833.06 points in response to this week’s resounding election results.
“The Stock Market suffered one of the Worst Days in History based on the results of the Election,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “Remember, it wasn’t Republicans, it was Dumocrats.”
In a follow-up, he told the electorate: “You only have yourselves to blame!”
With votes still being counted in the Alaska and Mississippi Senate races and beyond, Democrats currently hold a 54 to 44 majority in the Senate and are projected to win 253 seats in the House to the GOP’s 157.
The results come amid a civil war brewing within the Trump administration, with insiders scrambling to assign blame, the president reportedly sounding out advisors on the potential firing of Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Secretary of State Marco Rubio reportedly on “resignation watch.”

Blackburn did indeed win the governor’s manion, as it happens, but Hegseth is reportedly not in contention to be her replacement after all, leaving him trapped inside the Pentagon – unless Trump fires him.

Trump blames stock market nose-dive on Dems’ midterm victories – and this gripe is actually accurate
08:30 , Rachel DobkinPresident Donald Trump has blamed Thursday’s stock market nose-dive on Democrats’ midterm victories – an assessment with which few would argue.
“The Stock Market suffered one of the Worst Days in History based on the results of the Election. Such a sad thing to watch!” Trump wrote on Truth Social after the closing bell rang Thursday.
“It took so much work to get us to a level that no one has ever seen before, and then this. Your 401(k)s have, therefore, dropped.
“Remember, it wasn’t Republicans, it was Dumocrats. Do not fear, however, we will soon, one way or the other, be BIGGER AND STRONGER THAN EVER BEFORE. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”
While Trump’s online rants typically are exaggerated or sprinkled with falsehoods, it is accurate to say that the blue tsunami in reliably Republican states Tuesday also hit Wall Street.

The fate of Donald Trump’s final years in the White House will be significantly influenced by the midterm results, as his political opponents gain essential power over policymaking. With control of both chambers, Democrats can now serve as a check on Trump’s most extreme policies.

With the majority of preliminary results declared, Democrats are expected to hold at least 54 seats in the Senate after a series of victories in former Republican strongholds, including Texas, Kansas, South Carolina, Ohio, Maine and Iowa.

Senior Trump official calls Hegseth firing rumors 'delusional thinking'
03:02 , Rachel DobkinThere are rumors swirling that Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth may get the axe after the unpopular Iran war hurt Republicans in the midterms.

“Suggesting he’s looking for an exit or preparing to step aside is delusional thinking and misreading the situation. He’s not going anywhere. He’s going to remain focused on his mission, he won’t be distracted by the noise, and he’s not going to let the pressure dictate his future.
“The idea that the Left and no name sources can manufacture enough controversy to force him out is wishful thinking. He’s been through way tougher fights and this fight has only begun. Never bet against Pete,” the official added.
