  • Costco and BJ's Wholesale Club were identified as the most affordable retailers, with prices reportedly over 21 percent cheaper than Walmart.
  • Lidl and Aldi also offered lower prices, being approximately 8.5 percent and 8.3 percent less expensive than Walmart, respectively.
  • Amazon-owned Whole Foods was ranked as the most expensive grocery store, with prices nearly 40 percent higher than Walmart.
  • The survey, conducted by Strategic Resource Group, compared common item baskets across 35 grocery chains in six U.S. cities over a 48-hour period.
