PETALING JAYA: The Walshe Group has been appointed Lufthansa Group’s General Sales Agent (GSA) for Malaysia and Brunei, expanding the companies’ long-standing relationship in Australia and New Zealand, and marking a new phase of regional growth across Asia Pacific.

The appointment comes ahead of Lufthansa’s launch of its nonstop Kuala Lumpur–Frankfurt service in October 2026, creating a direct Malaysia–Germany connection and a stronger platform for Lufthansa Group sales in the market.

The Kuala Lumpur–Frankfurt nonstop service will operate 5x weekly using the new Boeing 787-9, offering seamless onward connections via Frankfurt and strengthening Lufthansa Group’s presence in Southeast Asia.

For The Walshe Group, the expanded remit builds on an established relationship with Lufthansa Group built over the last 28 years, developing deep market knowledge, strong trade relationships and a proven record of sales representation across the region.

The appointment broadens The Walshe Group’s regional role and supports greater alignment across two key Singapore Airlines joint venture markets: Australia and Malaysia. Through a coordinated approach, The Walshe Group will support Lufthansa Group with trade engagement, market feedback, account management and sales execution.

“This is an exciting opportunity to create a regional sales solution for such a valued long-term customer,” said The Walshe Group CEOand managing director, Jacqui Walshe. “As Lufthansa Group prepares to launch services between Kuala Lumpur and Frankfurt, we see a strong opportunity to support the market with local expertise, regional consistency and close alignment across Australia and Malaysia.”

In Malaysia and Brunei, The Walshe Group will focus on strengthening trade relationships, account management, corporate and TMC engagement, consolidator partnerships, local market activity and commercial development. The local sales team, to be led by a newly appointed account manager, will also support the Kuala Lumpur–Frankfurt launch and build awareness of Lufthansa Group’s wider European network.
