MACHANG Member of Parliament Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal has reiterated his unwavering commitment to PAS and Perikatan Nasional (PN), despite his recent suspension from Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) for one party term.
Speaking during a ceramah held in conjunction with the 70th anniversary of PAS Kelantan and the 35th year of its Membangun Bersama Islam (MBI) governance initiative, he addressed speculation over his political future.
“The MP for Jelutong asked me why I was being oppressed and suspended,” he said. “I told him, I honestly don’t know why I was suspended – you’ll have to ask Pagoh. Even the letter did not state the reason.”
Wan Fayhsal revealed that he was invited to join DAP and by extension Pakatan Harapan (PH), but firmly declined.
“I thanked him for the invitation, but I remain committed to PN and PAS. I will never betray the trust of the people of Machang. Wallahi, I will remain with PAS and Perikatan Nasional,” he said.
He also disclosed that two years ago he had rejected an alleged RM5 million offer meant to lure him away from the party struggle and surrender his parliamentary seat.
“That money was offered to ‘buy’ the Machang seat, but I refused – for the sake of principle and honesty towards the people’s mandate.”
On Tuesday, *Sinar Harian* reported that Wan Fayhsal, who is also a member of Bersatu’s Supreme Council, was suspended from all party rights under Clause 22.5, effective from Monday.
According to Bersatu’s Disciplinary Board Chairman, Datuk Mohd Radzi Manan, the decision was finalised during a disciplinary meeting on 8 October. - October 16, 2025
