The police are currently searching for a man who they believe may have information regarding a gang rape that occurred in Wangsa Maju.
The city police chief, Datuk Allaudeen Abdul Majid, has identified the man as Muhammad Nuraffiq Jaafar, aged 29, and has asked for the public's assistance in locating him. Allaudeen expressed that anyone with knowledge of Jaafar's whereabouts or who may recognize him should come forward to help with the investigation.
The police have identified other suspects in the case and are currently working to locate them as well. According to the police chief, the incident took place in the early hours. Five men entered the victim's house, which is located in Wangsa Maju, and proceeded to rape her.
The victim, who is in her 20s, was asleep when she was abruptly woken up by a hand covering her mouth. Her hands were then tied, and her mouth was covered with tape. The men took turns raping her, all while filming the harrowing event. Once the gang rape was over, the men fled the scene, leaving the victim injured and bruised.
She immediately sought help by reporting the incident to the Wangsa Maju police station. The police, with the assistance of a forensics team, conducted investigations at the scene. Additionally, medical officers examined the victim at a nearby hospital. Earlier reports had stated that the police were searching for five men involved in the attack, one of whom is the victim's brother-in-law. However, their identities have not been disclosed to the public.
The police are urging anyone with information related to the incident or the whereabouts of Muhammad Nuraffiq Jaafar to contact Inspector Siti Fadzilah Ahmad Fisal, the investigating officer of the case, at 017-6240252. The police are committed to thoroughly investigating this horrific crime and bringing those responsible to justice. With the public's help, they hope to quickly apprehend Jaafar and identify the remaining suspects involved.
