KOTA KINABALU: A school security guard told the Coroner’s Court on Friday that a student’s mother had tried to take her daughter home following the death of Zara Qairina Mahathir.
Linah Mansoding @ Jaliha said the mother came to the hostel around 10pm or 11pm on July 17, saying her daughter was traumatised by the incident.
According to Linah, the mother asked to bring the girl, identified as Student B, home from the hostel that night.
However, Linah said the hostel warden did not allow the student to leave as there was no approval from the school principal.
She added that the principal was occupied in a meeting with Zara’s mother at the time.
