Kota Kinabalu: Parti Warisan (Warisan) strongly condemned attempts to incite anger among the people by spreading insults against the Kadazan Dusun community through a fake TikTok account misusing the party’s name.

In a statement, Warisan clarified that the account is not operated by the party and described it as a political deception intended to divide Sabahans by playing on racial sentiments.

“Kadazan Dusun are not only respected but also the backbone of Sabah’s history, culture and progress. To insult them is to insult Sabah’s dignity itself,” said Warisan Vice-President Terrence Siambun.

He said Warisan’s struggle has always been to unite Sabahans of all races and religions. “We are here to build a nation, not a particular race or religion. Let us work together to build a country regardless of race and faith,” he added.

The party also expressed outrage that the fake account had misused the image of the Batu Sumpah, a sacred symbol of unity and solemn pledge to the Kadazan Dusun community during the formation of Malaysia.

According to Kadazan Dusun beliefs and legends, anyone who insults the Batu Sumpah will face karmic consequences for their betrayal.

Earlier, Wira Warisan lodged a report against the account administrator, signalling that such provocative acts will not be tolerated.

Warisan Supreme Council member and Sekong Assemblyman Alias Sani, who is of Dusun descent, said he was personally offended by the insult.

“Batu Sumpah is not just a stone but a symbol of faith and dignity for the Kadazan Dusun. Anyone who mocks it is also insulting me and the entire community,” he said, adding that many of his relatives in Tambunan hold the Batu Sumpah close to their hearts.

Warisan urged the Kadazan Dusun community not to be deceived by such lies and manipulations.

“Together, let us expose this desperate act by certain quarters who are out of ideas and integrity,” said Terrence.

“Sabah deserves brave and transparent leadership, not cowards hiding behind fake accounts,” he added.
