KOTA KINABALU: Parti Warisan has denied claims that it is open to collaborating with Umno in the run-up to the Sabah state election.
Warisan secretary-general Datuk Loretto Padua Jr said on Sunday that the party’s president Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal had already made clear that its Supreme Council decided to work only with the people of Sabah.
He added there had been no secret meetings as alleged, stressing that Warisan’s position was shaped by the voices gathered through its grassroots outreach.
According to him, the party believes Sabahans aspire to unite under one local party rather than see political deals driven by power-sharing.
Loretto said Warisan’s focus in the state election will be on the welfare and future of Sabahans, not on the survival of any political party or coalition.
