Warisan denies viral statement on Unity Government exit

Kota Kinabalu: Parti Warisan has denied viral social media statements claiming it has announced its withdrawal from the Unity Government.

Warisan Secretary-General Datuk Loretto S Padua Jr described the circulated statements as another slanderous attempt to implicate and smear the party.

In a statement on Monday, Loretto said those involved were bold enough not only to spread slander but also to forge party documents to make them appear as official releases from the Secretary-General.

A fake two-page media statement had earlier gone viral online, purportedly issued under Loretto’s name.

The falsified document alleged that Warisan had decided to pull out of the Unity Government following careful consideration and discussions at all leadership levels and the grassroots.
