BONGAWAN: Parti Warisan (Warisan) denied that the strength and popularity of the party was weakening following the actions of some of its main leaders who left the party.
Warisan Vice President Dr Daud Yusuf said Warisan is even stronger because it is now lined up with genuine leaders who sincerely fight for the interests of Sabah and its people.
“We are actually relieved by the action of some leaders who left the party, as Warisan has now been cleansed, without us having to do the cleansing. What is important to us is a sincere struggle.
“It is in line with the Malaysia Madani concept which prioritises integrity and sincerity in defending the people,” he said after officiating an education fund donation handover ceremony, here, Tuesday.

Dr Daud, who is also Bongawan Assemblyman, said instead of Warisan, the parties that are actually weakening are those under Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS).
He said this can witnessed through the distribution of appointments at the grassroots level which does not reflect a fair share of power between GRS and Pakatan Harapan (PH) in Sabah.
“This imbalance should not happen if the concept of power sharing is practiced transparently, but what is happening is the opposite, causing dissatisfaction at the grassroots,” he stressed.
On Sunday, it was reported that Upko President Ewon Benedick called for GRS and PH to exercise fair power sharing when it comes to appointing grassroots leaders in Sabah.
He claimed some Upko members were unhappy with the purportedly unbalanced appointment of grassroots leaders, especially in constituencies not represented by PH.
According to him, the situation does not reflect power sharing between GRS-PH when in fact, the existing Government could not possibly be formed and maintained without the support of PH representatives.
The Kadamaian Assemblyman insisted that he himself implements the 60:40 concept for power sharing in his area, of which 60 per cent of appointments are for Upko and its affiliated parties and the remaining 40 per cent for GRS parties.
