
Kota Kinabalu: Warisan is all geared up for the coming Sabah state election with winnable candidates selected and constituencies identified, equipped with a strong and clear plan to address Sabah’s needs.
Its President, Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal, also said defections do not affect the party’s support, especially among Chinese voters, as he believes they would focus on leadership and change rather than political manoeuvring.

“I believe the Chinese voters in many areas, not just in Api-Api, Kapayan, Likas, Karamunting, Elopura and Sri Tanjung, are very mature voters.

“Candidates are important, but the people want change. I am confident that the Chinese community, in particular, is concerned about the state of life in Sabah — not only here but in our country as a whole.

He said Warisan would only field candidates in areas where the party is confident of winning.

“We already have candidates. We have identified them for every constituency. We are not here to waste time or effort on seats that we cannot win.
“This election is not just about numbers but about putting Sabah on the right track with leaders who genuinely care for the rakyat.
“The main issues that people are facing today are related to the economy, such as their purchasing power and their business returns, which are not as good as they had hoped. Some even told me they are struggling to find jobs,” he said.
