Kota Kinabalu: PKR Kimanis Chief Niki Ramday echoed PKR Tuaran’s call for Warisan to quit the Unity Government, accusing its President Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal of “two-faced politics.”“I fully support Razeef Rakimin’s strong stand against Shafie’s opportunistic attacks on the Unity Government and Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim,” he said.
Niki, who also heads PKR Sabah’s Welfare and Community Bureau, stressed that Warisan cannot continue to criticise the Government while leaders and family members enjoy federal posts.
Niki singled out Bongawan Assemblyman Dr Daud Yusof, who sits on the board of Mardi, as “proof of Warisan’s hypocrisy”.
“If Warisan really rejects the Unity Government, Dr Daud should resign immediately. Staying in such a post while Shafie insults the Government shows Warisan speaks with two tongues,” he said.
His remarks came after Razeef challenged Warisan to withdraw from the Unity Government following Shafie’s repeated attacks in campaign speeches.
Razeef had accused Shafie of spreading lies, hurling insults and reviving past controversies, including derogatory remarks against the Murut and Chinese communities, belittling Rela volunteers and even casting aspersions on the Sabah Governor.
Niki added that Shafie should also begin by asking his brother, Deputy Minister Datuk Mohammad Yusof Apdal, to vacate his federal post.
“You cannot tear down the Government in speeches but allow your allies and relatives to keep enjoying the benefits of office. That is political hypocrisy at its worst.
“Malaysia Madani demands unity, not double standards. If Warisan has honour, its leaders must step down without delay,” he said.
