KOTA KINABALU: Warisan President Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal said on Sunday the party accepts the results of the 17th Sabah Election with respect for the choice made by voters.
He told a media conference here that Warisan is open to cooperation with the Federal Government but believes Sabah should be governed by local parties that understand its priorities.
Shafie pledged to uphold voter trust and continue Warisan’s stance against corruption, while expressing gratitude to the Chinese community for what he described as their principled support.
Warisan won 25 of the 73 state seats and secured more than 300,000 votes, making it the single largest party by vote share at 25.8 per cent.
The party also captured all Chinese-majority urban seats previously held by DAP, marking a significant shift in the electoral map.
