SHAH ALAM, Sept 14 — The Malaysian Meteorology Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a warning of thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds in two Selangor districts, namely Kuala Selangor and Gombak, until 9pm today.
In a statement issued at 12.30pm today, MetMalaysia said that a similar weather condition will also be experienced in Perak, Kelantan, Pahang, Negeri Sembilan, Sabah, and Labuan.
“The warning is issued when there are signs of thunderstorms with rainfall intensity exceeding 20mm/hour or expected to take place for over an hour.
“Thunderstorms warning is a short-term warning which is valid within six hours after it was issued,” the statement read.
