Anwar puzzled by Azmin’s claim of invitation to rejoin PKR
KUALA LUMPUR: PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said he had not been informed of any invitation for former PKR deputy president Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali to rejoin the party.
“Has anyone invited him? Was there an invitation? I was not informed,” the Prime Minister said briefly when asked after officiating the National Innovation and Commercialisation Expo (NICE) 2026 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) today.
On Tuesday, Azmin, now secretary-general of Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu), reportedly said he would never return to PKR despite invitations being extended to former members to rejoin the party.
Prior to this, former Bandar Tun Razak MP Datuk Kamarudin Jaffar and former Nibong Tebal MP Datuk Mansor Othman have reportedly been tipped to return to PKR.
Former PKR vice-president Datuk Dr Xavier Jayakumar has also confirmed his return to the party.
