WATCH: 25-Year-Old Foreigner Arrested After Vandalising Several Parked Cars in Johor, Found With Weapon & No Legal Documents

After being caught on video damaging parked cars, a 25-year-old foreign national was taken into custody yesterday afternoon close to the Batu Pahat bus terminal.

Bystanders captured the incident, which happened at 3:30 p.m. and it became viral online very fast.

The Batu Pahat police investigated after seeing the viral video and detained the 25-year-old foreign man, who was later discovered to have entered the country illegally.

Chief of Batu Pahat District Police Sharul Annuar said that the suspect's capture followed a tip from members of the public.

A folding knife was taken out of the suspect's rucksack by police officers who had been dispatched to arrest him.

Cheif Sharu Anu said the police is investigating the foreign man under Section 427 (wilful damage) of the Penal Code & Section 6 (1) of the Corrosive, Explosive & Dangerous Weapons Act 1958 for vandalism & carrying a folding knife weapon in a public area.

He added on, that since the suspect did not have any legal documents on him during the arrest, the police has also launched an investigation under Section 6 (1) (c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63.
