Come Raya, families get the chance to get together and celebrate the end of Ramadhan. It’s no surprise that there have been a lot of Raya related videos on TikTok where families hop on viral trends together.
This time around, we’re bringing you an awesome video of a family dancing to the iconic “Ketchup Song, (Aserejé)” by Spanish girl group, Las Ketchup.
In the 18 second video, an adorable grandma can be seen dancing from side to side with her family members on the morning of Raya.
Speaking to WORLD OF BUZZ, the grandma’s grandson, Mohamad Ryduan revealed that the cute nenek in the video is his 70-year-old grandma named Halimah Binti Omar.
Ryduan said that it was his idea to do the TikTok video with his whole family and rallied them all up for the video after they finished Eid prayers on the 22nd of April at Yishun, Singapore.
“My grandma is very sociable and friendly. She always supports her children and grandkids despite her old age”, said Ryduan.
He continued on to say that the family used to often record videos with their late grandpa and now do the same with their grandma to immortalise the memorable moments they have together.
When asked by WORLD OF BUZZ how his family felt that the video went viral, he said that they were shocked at the outcome but also happy.
“I just edited the video for my family to watch how cute and funny our grandma’s effort was at dancing”, he said.
Clearly the grandma has fans online!
This TikTok video has since gone viral with 537k views and 81.8k likes!
One netizen commented that the video was the “cutest thing” she saw of the day and that she misses both of her grandmothers that have left her.
Many others also felt the same, one person commented how much they miss their grandmothers after watching the video. “So cute this grandma, miss my own grandma.”
While another netizen wrote, “missing my late grandma.”
Of course there were plenty of comments saying that the nenek is cute!
One funny comment got the most engagement with 2803 likes. The netizen wrote that the grandma shouldn’t worry, “your dancing is correct, the others are the ones that didn’t come for rehearsal”.
