Ed Sheeran opened his concert in Philadelphia last night with an emotional statement to fans, admitting he had made ‘mistakes’ in the handling of the controversy over his tour.
It was the singer’s first show since rapper Macklemore was removed from the bill after making comments in support of Gaza and a ‘Free Palestine’.
A slew of other acts subsequently dropped off the tour in support, forcing the 35-year-old to take to the stage alone.
“I’ve had to make difficult decisions, and I’m so, so, sorry,” Sheeran told the audience at the Lincoln Financial Field on Saturday (19 Sep).
