A man narrowly escaped a Russian drone strike near Kyiv, CCTV footage showed on Thursday, 8 October.
Video from the village of Sviatopetrivske in the Kyiv region captured the man walking along a street near a kindergarten moments before a drone appears to strike nearby, triggering a large explosion and sending debris and smoke into the air.
Russia and Ukraine have ramped up attacks on each other’s energy infrastructure in recent months, raising the global price of diesel and affecting farmers in the US.
Ukraine had shown willing to engage in a so-called ‘energy ceasefire’ with Russia, but Moscow signalled no public commitment and reportedly sought sanctions relief in private.
