A high-profile event hosted by the United States embassy at the Mandarin Oriental hotel was disrupted when members of the pressure group Gegar America staged a protest against U.S. support for Israel in light of the ongoing genocide in Palestine.

The incident unfolded when a masked protester from Gegar America, equipped with a small loudhailer, ascended the hotel's spiral staircase and began addressing the crowd.
"You are all complicit in the murder of thousands of Palestinian children," the protester shouted, as fellow demonstrators unfurled a banner emblazoned with the word "Genocide."
Gegar America, a youth movement that opposes imperialism and Zionism, orchestrated the protest to draw attention to American involvement in the ongoing suffering of Palestinians.
The demonstration was short-lived, however, as security personnel swiftly intervened and escorted the protester out of the venue.
