The struggle of having stage fright is NO JOKE, but to have to sing in front of the crowds even when you’re not on the stage is similarly frightening.
The Ministry of Youth & Sports, Hannah Yeoh recently had to try her best to sing (even for just a few words) at an event after being persuaded by local singer, Misha Omar. The attempt was shared on her TikTok account @hannahyeohmp.
Misha, who was still singing, slowly approached Hannah, who had no idea about what was about “to come.”
Hannah was at her seat and unaware of the surroundings was surprised when Misha approached her and asked her to sing for a bit. Hannah initially refused because she didn’t know how to sing, as mentioned in her caption.
“It was scary because I couldn’t sing well,” Hannah said.
Misha was singing “Standing in the Eyes of The World,” a classic song made famous by local singer, Ella. Hannah shook her head, signifying to Misha that she didn’t want to sing. The singer, however, continued to persuade and support Hannah to sing, and the politician eventually gave in.
Hannah held the microphone and nervously sang the chorus, “Kini standing in the eyes of the world.” After only 1 sentence, Hannah returned the microphone to Misha.
“I’m now a fan”
Despite her shyness, netizens were amused by Hannah’s attempt to sing, even if it was just for a bit. Some even claimed to be a fan of Hannah after seeing the clip.
“It soothes my eyes to see this. Good one, YB Hannah and Misha Omar!”
“I’m a fan of Misha Omar, and I’m now a fan of you, Hannah.”
