A recent video posted on Facebook has sparked a heated debate among netizens regarding a controversial policy at a local kopitiam. The video, which quickly went viral, shows a notice pinned on the premises' board stating that "Each table will be charged RM2.00 if no single drink ordered."

The video garnered a flurry of reactions from netizens. Some users expressed outrage, calling the policy unfair and unethical. They argued that customers should not be forced to purchase a drink if they simply want to enjoy a meal at a kopitiam, or anywhere else for that matter.

Others took a more proactive stance, suggesting that the user report the kopitiam to the Ministry of Trade and Consumer Affairs for potential violation of consumer rights.

Conversely, some defended the kopitiam's policy, arguing that it is a reasonable measure to ensure that customers contribute to the establishment's revenue. They pointed out that running a business, especially in the food and beverage industry, comes with overhead costs that need to be covered.

However, amidst the debate, a growing number of netizens are calling for a boycott of kopitiams that implement such policies. They argue that there are plenty of other establishments that offer similar services without imposing additional charges on customers.
