In a distressing video that has gone viral, kindergarteners in Ampang are shown in the video to be standing on tables for protection as their classroom is flooded.

Many on the internet are quite concerned about the children's and their teachers' safety in light of the alarming footage.

The young pupils can be seen in the video scrambling to stay above the rising water that has engulfed them as they cluster together on the tables.

Thankfully, the fire brigade arrived quickly, allowing for the safe rescue of every student.

The flash flood rain, which began at around 9am, lasted for over an hour, and saw rainfall levels exceeding 60mm per hour in some areas, prompting red alert warnings from authorities.

Other areas hit by the flooding included Sungai Bunus, Jalan Tun Razak, and Leboh Pasar.
