Yesterday’s first leg of the semifinal of the 2022 ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) Cup between Malaysia and Thailand left plenty of local fans happy following the 1-0 result at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil.
Whilst super football fans also known as ‘ultras’ are known for their undying dedication and passion towards their teams, violence should never be condoned.
In a video which has since gone viral, a Malaysian football fan appeared to try to incite fans of the other team by shouting towards them as he was leaving the stadium.
However, what he probably did not realise was that there was a group of policemen walking right next to him.
One of the cops was quick to pull aside the hooligan and appeared to wrestle with him as the fan struggled to get away.
The fan eventually managed to slip away from the grasp of the cop and quickly ran towards the exit, leaving his hat behind.
Wannabe hooligan?
The video has gone viral on various social media platforms. Plenty of netizens took to the comments section to condemn the actions of the fan. Some even went beyond and told him to stop pretending to be a die hard fan.
“Should just step on people like this. Tarnishing Malaysia.”
“In a few seconds his face changed,” said a netizen.
Another commented, “Stupid casual (fan), pretended to be tough and hit people. But when confronted by the police he ran away.”
